Frequently Asked Questions About Qualified Supervision

Do you provide supervision throughout Florida?

Yes. Supervision is offered virtually, allowing registered interns anywhere in Florida to receive qualified supervision.

Who can receive supervision from me?

I provide qualified supervision for:

  • Registered Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) Interns
  • Registered Mental Health Counselor (MHC) Interns

I offer both individual and group supervision to support your professional development while meeting Florida licensure requirements. Whether you work in private practice, community mental health, hospitals, or another behavioral health setting, supervision is tailored to help you build confidence and strengthen your clinical skills.

What is the difference between individual supervision and group supervision?

I offer flexible supervision options to meet your learning style and licensure needs. Both supervision formats emphasize evidence-based practice, ethical clinical care, and developing confidence as an emerging therapist.

Individual Supervision

Receive personalized guidance focused on your unique clinical cases, professional goals, and areas for growth. Individual supervision provides dedicated time for in-depth case consultation, clinical skill development, ethical decision-making, and professional identity formation.

Group Supervision

Learn alongside fellow registered interns in a collaborative environment where you’ll gain diverse clinical perspectives, strengthen case conceptualization skills, and build a supportive professional network. Group supervision encourages discussion, shared learning, and exposure to a variety of clinical presentations while fulfilling Florida supervision requirements.

How often will we meet for supervision?

We will meet for at least one hour every 2 weeks or 1 hour a week per 15 hours of clinical supervision.

Do you provide any documentation after supervision sessions?

Yes, I do. After each session, I will send you individualized supervision notes, which provide a summary of our cases, documentation for ethical guidance, and action steps for you to complete.

Then, at the end of the month, I will send you a monthly tracking log of clinical and supervision hours that I have approved for the month.

What types of cases do you have the most experience supervising?

My primary specialties include:

  • Couples and relationship therapy
  • Women’s mental health
  • Infertility
  • Pregnancy and postpartum mental health
  • Perinatal loss
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma-informed care
Can I transfer from or to another supervisor?

Absolutely. If you’re considering changing supervisors, I’m happy to discuss the transition process and answer any questions about continuity of supervision.

Is it okay to have more than one supervisor?

Yes. I can either be a primary or secondary supervisor, depending on your needs. For example, if you want to be trained in a specialty (e.g., EMDR, play therapy, ART, etc.), I can act as your clinical supervisor for the state of Florida, but you would need to find another supervisor for your specialized training.

Do you supervise therapists working in private practice?

Yes. I supervise interns working in private practice, community mental health agencies, hospitals, and other behavioral health settings, provided the supervision arrangement meets Florida Board requirements.

Do you offer supervision in Spanish?

Yes. Supervision is available in both English and Spanish.

What makes your supervision style different?

My supervision style is collaborative, encouraging, and growth-focused. I strive to create an environment where interns feel supported while being challenged to strengthen their clinical skills, ethical decision -making, and confidence as therapists.

How do I get started with qualified supervision?

Simply reach out by phone or email to schedule a consultation. We’ll discuss your professional goals, current clinical setting, and determine whether we’re a good fit to work together during your journey toward licensure.

Get Started With Supervision

Share a little about what you’re looking for. You’ll hear back within 1–2 business days.

  1. Reach Out

Begin by scheduling a consultation through the contact form, phone, email, or social media. This is an opportunity to briefly share your needs and ask any questions you may have about the supervision process.

  2. Brief Consultation Call

During the consultation, we’ll discuss your professional goals, current clinical setting, payment terms, and whether we feel like we are a good fit for each other. This is another opportunity for you to ask questions.

  3. Complete Supervision Contract

If we are a good fit and agree to work together, then I will provide you with a supervision contract after our consultation call. Once you complete and return it, I will send a letter of intent to the 491 Florida State Board.

  4. Supervision Sessions

I will support you on a regular basis during your internship period. We can meet individually or in a group format. Through our virtual sessions, we will staff client cases, provide feedback on sessions you record, discuss regulations and the licensure exam, focus on your professional development and goals, and more.

  5. Path to Licensure

You have completed your clinical and supervision hours. Now what? I’m still here if you have any questions about your application for licensure. After ensuring that you met your requirements, I will file a verification form with the state. Then, you will soon be a licensed clinician. Congratulations!
