Michelle Savage, LMFT, PMH-C
Bilingual (English/Spanish) | Owner, Lead Therapist & Qualified Supervisor | Resilient Corazones Counseling
Welcome / Bienvenidos! I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Michelle Savage, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Perinatal Mental Health Certified provider with over 18 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s most meaningful—and often most challenging—transitions. As the Owner and Lead Therapist at Resilient Corazones Counseling, I am committed to creating a space where healing feels possible, growth feels supported, and every client feels seen, heard, and valued.
My journey into the mental health field is both professional and deeply personal. I am a first-generation immigrant who moved to the United States during my middle school years. Navigating a new culture, learning a new language, and adjusting to a completely different environment shaped my understanding of identity, belonging, and resilience early on. These experiences gave me deep insight into the complexities individuals and families face when balancing cultural identities, intergenerational expectations, and major life transitions.
Shortly before graduating high school, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness that significantly impacted my life trajectory. What initially felt like a disruption became a defining turning point that deepened my empathy, strengthened my emotional awareness, and expanded my capacity to sit with others in difficult moments. This experience continues to inform my work today as I support clients navigating uncertainty, grief, identity shifts, and unexpected life challenges.
My personal journey also includes expanding my family through adoption, which has further enriched my understanding of attachment, family systems, and the many ways connection and belonging are formed. Being both a therapist and a parent allows me to approach my work with compassion, flexibility, and a grounded, real-world perspective on the joys and complexities of family life.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida and my Master of Science in Couple, Marital, and Family Counseling from Capella University. I am also a Qualified Supervisor in Florida, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to emerging therapists in both Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. Supporting the next generation of clinicians is a role I value deeply, as it allows me to contribute to the growth of a more compassionate and culturally responsive mental health community.
In my clinical work, I serve clients across the lifespan, with specialized focus in BIPOC communities, veterans and their families, women’s mental health, and perinatal and reproductive experiences including infertility, pregnancy, postpartum transitions, and the emotional complexities that often accompany these journeys. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and major life changes. I recognize that grief can extend beyond loss through death—it can also include the loss of identity, expectations, relationships, or envisioned life paths. Together, we create space to process these experiences with intention, care, and compassion.
I utilize a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Integrative Behavioral Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples. My approach is collaborative, flexible, and individualized. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I work closely with each client to develop a path that feels aligned and meaningful. When requested, I also offer a faith-based approach, honoring the role spirituality can play in healing and resilience.

What It’s Like to Work With Me
Clients often describe me as warm, transparent, and down-to-earth. I strive to create a space where you feel safe to be your authentic self without judgment. I balance empathy and support with gentle accountability, helping you gain insight, build coping tools, and move toward meaningful change.
I believe therapy is a partnership. You are the expert of your life, and my role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, perspective, and practical tools as you navigate your journey. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply seeking deeper self-understanding, I meet you where you are and support you in moving forward at your own pace.
Community Involvement & Speaking
Beyond the therapy room, I am passionate about community education, advocacy, and increasing awareness around mental health, particularly in areas that are often overlooked or stigmatized. I have presented at local events, including Moms Pro of Orlando, where I spoke on the invisible grief experienced by women navigating infertility and miscarriage.

I was also featured on the Amor Crudo podcast, where I discussed the impact of infertility on relationships in Spanish, reflecting my commitment to making mental health conversations accessible and culturally relevant for Spanish-speaking communities.
I will also be presenting at the Central Florida Postpartum Alliance Perinatal Mental Health panel at the beginning of May, where I will be speaking on the impact of infertility on mental health. Additionally, I will be launching my first couples intensive at the end of May, offering a focused and immersive experience for couples seeking deeper connection, improved communication, and healing within their relationship.
Outside of the Therapy Room
When I’m not working with clients, I am deeply engaged in my roles as a wife, mother, and active member of my community. I have been married for 16 years, and my family is one of my greatest sources of joy, grounding, and inspiration.
I stay actively involved in my son’s life through scouting and baseball, supporting his growth, leadership development, and life experiences. I also volunteer regularly at PTA events and have chaperoned multiple school field trips, including a recent 4th-grade trip to St. Augustine. Being present and engaged in these moments is something I value deeply.
Travel is a meaningful part of my life and a way I nurture connection and curiosity. My son and I have explored over 22 states across the United States together, creating lasting memories and shared experiences. Most recently, we traveled internationally to Spain, which was both culturally enriching and personally meaningful. I also enjoy traveling solo and with friends, as it allows me to recharge, gain perspective, and continue growing.
Closer to home, I enjoy visiting theme parks, attending concerts, and spending quality time with friends and loved ones. I believe in the importance of joy, balance, and creating meaningful experiences—values that I not only live by, but also encourage in my clients.
My Commitment to You
I am passionate about creating a space where individuals from all backgrounds—especially those from historically marginalized or underrepresented communities—feel safe, respected, and empowered. I strive to provide culturally attuned care that acknowledges systemic influences while honoring your unique story and lived experience.
If you are looking for a therapist who brings both professional expertise and genuine human connection into the work, I would be honored to support you. Healing is not a linear journey, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
When you’re ready, I’m here.
